Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Overview
Fahm (“the app”) is a vocabulary learning tool for Quranic Arabic and Salah. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Data Stored on Your Device
Fahm stores your learning progress — including words learned, lesson completion, quiz results, bookmarked verses, and app settings — locally on your device. If you are signed in to an account, this data is also synced to our secure cloud database (Supabase) so you can access it across multiple devices. Uninstalling the app removes local data; account data can be deleted at any time (see Data Deletion below).
Third-Party API Calls
To deliver content, the app makes network requests to the following services:
- api.quran.com — Quranic text, word morphology, and audio timestamps (Quran Foundation)
- api.alquran.cloud — Verse audio and translations (Islamic Network)
- api.sunnah.com — Hadith source citations (Sunnah.com)
These requests include only the content required (surah/verse numbers, word keys). No personal identifiers are sent.
Account Data
If you create an account, your email address is stored securely via Supabase and is used only to authenticate your session and sync your progress — including SRS results, bookmarks, and lesson history — across your devices. We do not sell or share this data with third parties.
Pro Subscriptions
If you purchase a Pro subscription, payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or Stripe for web-based sign-ups. Fahm does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information.
We use RevenueCat to manage app subscription entitlements and sync your Pro status securely across devices using an anonymous identifier. RevenueCat does not have access to your payment details. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Analytics and Tracking
Fahm does not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. We do not track your usage behaviour.
Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time. To do so, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account within the app, or visit our account deletion page to submit a request by email. We will permanently remove your data within 30 days.
Right to Erasure
Under applicable privacy law (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to request the permanent deletion of all personal data we hold about you. This includes your email address, authentication credentials, learning progress, SRS history, and bookmarks stored in our database.
Exercising this right will not automatically cancel any active App Store or Google Play subscription — you must manage that separately through your device's store settings. Once erasure is complete, the action cannot be reversed.
To submit a deletion request, use the in-app option (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or visit our account deletion page. Requests submitted by email will be fulfilled within 30 days. We will send a confirmation once deletion is complete.
Children's Privacy
Fahm does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The app contains no advertisements and requires no personal information beyond an optional account email.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
